LOS ANGELES — The Los Angeles County Department of Health and Human Services recently issued a warning to individuals with heart problems who have received an “impairment of function” from taking the medication Viagra.“If you are taking Viagra, your heart may not work as well as it should, especially if you are taking a prescription drug like sildenafil,” the prescription drug manager wrote on the agency’s Web site.
“If you are experiencing a heart attack or stroke, call your doctor right away and call 911 or your local emergency number immediately,” the warning states. “If you have any changes in your heart rhythm, you should immediately consult a doctor and get your prescription.”
Viagra has been available since 2004, and it was one of the most prescribed drugs in the U. S. for erectile dysfunction. It is a prescription drug that’s sold under the brand name Revatio and is often sold under the brand name Revitalize or Revatio Connect. In 2012, the FDA found that more than 20 men who took the drug were impotent.
“Viagra is not safe for everyone,” said Dr. Steven Nissen, a cardiologist and cardiologist at the Cleveland Clinic who’s treating a patient with erectile dysfunction. “It may not be as effective in the case of heart attack or stroke.”
The FDA says the medication is the most commonly used drug in the U. because it’s so effective in treating ED. In one of the most recent studies, the FDA found that over two million men with heart problems took sildenafil. The agency also found that about 6,000 of them developed erectile dysfunction, or impotence.
Viagra is available by prescription only. Doctors don’t usually prescribe it to patients who have had heart surgery, for example, and the drug is only available to men who are older than 65.
The FDA’s warning is based on an extensive review of the records of more than 50,000 patients who took Viagra. But that review found that, compared with the placebo group, the Viagra group experienced fewer hospitalizations and outpatient visits for ED.
“We also found a higher frequency of hospitalizations for heart attack or stroke,” said Nissen, the FDA’s senior director for clinical affairs. “We wanted to know if the drug could have the same effect in the general population.”
The FDA has not received reports of serious adverse events from Viagra users since 2007. Viagra is the only medication approved for erectile dysfunction. Since 2012, the FDA has not approved sildenafil to treat ED, and the drug is still available without a prescription. But it’s still considered a popular drug in the U. S., with about 80 percent of prescriptions filled in the U. for ED in 2013.
Viagra has been one of the most commonly prescribed drugs for the past five years. The company that makes Viagra said it has seen a lot of positive changes in the use of the drug since its launch. The agency’s Web site lists all of the positive changes it’s seeing.
In one of the most recent studies, the FDA found that more than 20,000 men with ED received Viagra. Viagra can be used safely, and it can be used in patients with heart problems. It can also be used to treat erectile dysfunction in men.
Viagra is available in pill form. Doctors usually prescribe the pill to patients who’ve been taking the drug for years.
For example, patients who’ve been prescribed Viagra for heart problems often have a history of heart disease and, at the same time, can’t take it.
Viagra can’t be used in patients who have not been diagnosed with ED. If you’re worried about heart problems, talk to your doctor about your treatment options.
“If you take sildenafil, it’s more likely to cause you serious side effects,” said Nissen. “You should take it with food to help minimize the side effects.”
Dr. Nissen said patients who’ve taken Viagra should always speak with a doctor if they have a history of heart disease. If the problem wasn’t caused by a heart problem, the doctor should be sure to call a heart doctor.Viagra Connect is an effective treatment for erectile dysfunction (ED). And that’s because it was the first country to give it to a man. And the man behind that erection was an Irish man, Joe O’Halloran.
“I had been trying to get him to do the first thing and that seemed like the right thing,” O’Halloran said. “But I thought he was an idiot.”
But O’Halloran said he’d been given Viagra to take the first step in the erection. After a short while, the erection started to get worse, and the man became very, very sick.
When the man didn’t have any erection at all, he became so frustrated that he couldn’t get the erection to work. O’Halloran said he tried to get some Viagra to take and the man couldn’t get to work.
“I’m like, ‘I can’t get this thing up to work.’” he said. “I tried taking it to help with it, but it wasn’t really helping.”
He had problems keeping it up, and then the man started to feel ill.
“I was like, ‘Oh my God, what a stupid thing to do.’” he said.
O’Halloran said he thought that was his problem.
“I just thought, ‘Wow, this is so dumb.’ But he did have a little bit of a headache.”
And the man had problems keeping it up.
“I had a headache, but I had not felt any different,” he said. “I had to take a few hours to get the headache back.”
But O’Halloran said he’d had enough of that.
“I just thought, ‘This guy is sick. He needs Viagra.’” he said. “I was like, ‘I don’t need Viagra. It’s just, ‘I want it to work.’”
That was the only time he felt so bad.
“I’m like, ‘Oh my God, what a stupid thing to do.’” he said. “I just thought, ‘Wow, this guy is sick. He needs Viagra.’”
He was also very sick.
He needs Viagra.
